Increasing production by 40 metric tons per month with DISA MATCH

Canadian FONDERIE LAROCHE is a 100% family-owned business who replaced an old Hunter HMP20 machine with a DISA MATCH 20/24. Today, the foundry – specializing in grey and ductile iron castings as well as the fabrication of customized patterns for moulding purposes – runs all their patterns on the DISA MATCH, and with a significant change in casting quality to show for it.

Canadian FONDERIE LAROCHE is a Quebec-based family-owned business established in 1925 and specializing in grey iron and ductile iron castings as well as the fabrication of customized patterns for moulding purposes.

The company’s activities include the supply of various municipal requirements (road works, drain covers, service boxes, etc.) construction materials (fireplace doors and grates, etc.) and special parts that must meet specific estimates or plan specifications.

Today, the family’s fourth generation runs the foundry, and employs a total of 80 permanent professionals who run one DISA MATCH 20/24 and four large jolt squeeze machines. The company constantly strives to establish new technologies and adheres to the strictest of quality standards.

FONDERIE LAROCHE produces 420-450 metric tons of castings per month, in two shifts. Production is handled on the jolt squeeze machines on the first shift, whereas the second shift produces castings on the DISA MATCH 20/24.

The DISA MATCH 20/24 replaced an old Hunter HMP20 machine, and today, all patterns run on the DISA MATCH 20/24, mounted in adaptor plates with minimum modification to the original Hunter patterns.

As a result of replacing the old Hunter machine, FONDERIE LAROCHE has experienced a significant change in casting quality. Additionally, FONDERIE LAROCHE has stated that: “With our new DISA, we’ll be able to increase our production of pouring metal per month by 40 metric tons”.
