Christian Høiagaard
Global Instructor
What is your role at DISA?
I’m an instructor and teach our customer how to operate and maintenance our DISAMATIC machines. On basis on the machine documentation, made by our R&D, I produce necessary additional training documentation.
For how long have you worked at DISA?
This year it will be 39 years. The first 14 years I worked in the Quality department and since 1999, I have worked for the DISA training department.
Can you share a fun or interesting fact about yourself?
I like physical sports and enjoy running, bicycling, and skiing. I’m very dedicated to my job as an instructor. It gives me great joy to visit different countries and companies.
If you could have any superpower to help you at work, what would it be?
I get near my retirement ages now, so I would probably use my superpower to take 10 – 20 years more on the road. Well, I don’t think my family will accept that.
What 3 words would you use to describe DISA?
Quality, Innovation, and good craftsmanship.
What sets DISA apart from other workplaces you've experienced?
Freedom with responsibility as we say in Denmark. It gives me the possibility to plan and do my work my selves and take responsibility for it. In many companies I visit, that is not always the case.
What is the best part about your current role or the tasks/projects you're currently working on?
I'm probably a geek and like to invent and immerse myself in creating documentation, for the benefit of the people I teach.
Most of the times I get very positive feedback from the participants in my training. So, the feeling, that I help our customers to make better performance and less scrap, is good.
Our poet Hans Christian Andersen said once “To travel is to live”. I follow that 100%.
I enjoy meeting people with different background around the world and learn their values and compare with our values in the Nordic Countries. If I have a day off, I use it to see beautiful sights, cities, museums, Temples, or other interesting things.
