About Sharp Liqtech:

Incorporated in year 2012, Sharp Liqtech today is amongst the renowned foundries in Coimbatore producing and exporting SG and Grey iron castings for tractors, textile machineries, pumps, valves, and marine PT housing to 40+ European and USA customers.

Background:

Sharp Liqtech is the proud user of DISA Complete foundry using DISA ARPA 300 moulding machine, sand plant and TM160 mixer. Another DISA ARPA 450 moulding line with SKA575 cooler is under installation to support growing export demand.

Sharp Liqtech team observed underutilization of their foundry equipment and observed the mixer is not performing as per rated quantity. This leads to a discussion with DISA India aftermarket team. DISA India aftermarket team after an audit found that the TM mixer output is in range of 60%-70% per batch. The main reason for this sand delay is excess consumption of electricity by Fluid coupling motor.

DISA Aftermarket team recommended soft starter kit for the fluid coupling motor to control the electricity consumption and to overcome the sand delay.

Solution:

After the soft starter kit implementation, the fluid coupling motor started consuming much lesser power and this leads to overcome the sand delay process as mixer now performing with rated capacity.

Now, the plant is running as per planned capacity and seeing an average reduction of 100 units of electricity per day which as per the management of Sharp Liqtech, expected to save an approximately 0.2 MINR in a year.

The soft started implementation also leads to a better maintenance practice as the operator receive an instant alert message on rough usage. The Sharp Liqtech team now a happy customer and look forward for more such projects to improve foundry efficiency
