Round and Square Bars and Billets

Square or round bars and billets are normally submitted to flaw detection at the end of the production line. Whatever detection methods are used, preliminary descaling is necessary. Today this is done mechanically by means of mechanical descaling. DISA Shot blast machines operate on the single-strand longitudinal blast cleaning principle and are usually arranged prior to the detection equipment. Integration in fully mechanized finishing lines for semi-products in high quality and super-refined steel results in a continuous material flow. Blast cleaning machines can also be employed however, for off-line descaling plants.
