DISA 250 AUX. EQUIPMENT

DISA 250 Aux. Equipment

Sand Supply Unit

  • The Sand Supply Unit is designed for keeping the DISA 250 series supplied with sand.
  • It is fed from the foundry's sand preparation plant.
  • The sand hopper is lined with stainless steel plates and has sufficient capacity to function as a buffer in the event of brief sand supply interruptions.
  • The hopper may be emptied by reversing the draw-off belt.

Automatic Core Setter (CSE)

  • Automatic core setting device for fast and accurate production of high-quality cored castings.
  • Operator manually feeds the cores into the core mask where they are retained by vacuum.
  • The cores are automatically and accurately set into the cavity of the last mould produced.
  • The core setting procedure can be facilitated even more using an automatic core feeding.

Precision Mould Conveyor (PMC)

  • High-precision system, synchronised with the moulding machine.
  • Supports and conveys the mould string from the moulding machine through the pouring, solidifying and cooling zones.
  • Entire mould string is kept at the same level throughout transportation.
  • Built-in Mould Side Supports mean high mould surface utilisation and increased casting accuracy.

Synchronised Belt Conveyor (SBC)

  • Extends the total cooling length (consisting of PMC and SBC) up to 120 m.
  • Mould gaps are avoided at the critical transition point between the PMC and the SBC.

Mould Side Supports (MSS)

  • Mould Side Supports (MSS) form part of the DISA 250-C Precision Mould Conveyor (PMC).
  • The MSS support the sand moulds to obtain a higher degree of utilisation of the moulding area.
  • The MSS are pneumatically operated, and the activating force is centrally adjusted from the MSS valve cabinet.

Automatic Pattern Changer Unit (APC)

  • Change of pattern plates within a cycle time extension of 60 seconds maximum.
  • APC can be installed on either the right-hand or left-hand side of the DMM, but must always be opposite to the core setter (CSE), if installed.
