DISA was founded in 1900, and in the 1950’s the company diversified into petrol pumps and motorcycles. Production of the Swedish Ljungmann petrol pump started in 1952, and by 1957 a nation-wide service organisation had been established with 30 vans serving some 14,000 outlets and a total of 50,000 petrol pumps all over Denmark. Fast on the heels of petrol pumps came the DISA V 150 motorcycle. With its smooth, two-stroke engine, the first prototype showed no sign of wear at all, even after 25,000 miles. However, the real revolution came in 1961 when DISA Industries A/S bought a patent for a vertical moulding machine invented by professor Vagn Aage Jeppesen at the Danish Technical University. Hard work and determination DISA Industries A/S appointed a team of engineers to develop a prototype machine based on the vertical moulding principle with the aim of introducing it to the foundry world at the GIFA trade fair in 1962. The new machine took the foundry industry by storm on the opening day. The first ever DISAMATIC to enter production was delivered in January 1964 to United Danish Iron Foundries. A complete partner Since the first DISAMATIC, DISA Industries A/S has sold more than 1,300 machines world-wide and development of new machines based on this unique system has since taken place. DISA Industries A/S has launched the latest generation of moulding machines, called The New Generation. The New Generation family has five members, DISA 230, 240, 250, 270 and 280. DISA 280 is the biggest vertical-moulding machine ever produced in the world. It has been sold to a foundry in Spain, and has been in production since autumn 2003. As complete supplier to the foundry industry DISA supplies everything from sand plants, core shooters, moulding machines, DISACOOL and shot blast systems. DISA is able to provide individual solutions for a great variety of processes and applications and can therefore offer state-of-the-art solutions to meet all foundry needs – including yours.
