DISA BAT: FLEXIBLE, ECONOMICAL, RELIABLE
30 May 2007
The concept of the DISA BAT barrel-type shot blast machine is an intelligent evolution of the time-tested DISA batch-type shot blast machines. The range of DISA BAT shot blast machines offers reliable process technology coupled with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to specific needs. It offers interesting economical aspects. For the surface treatment of tumble-proof castings, there are multiple options for the cost-conscious user to choose from. Small-size components are cleaned with the same reliability as massive castings with a batch weight of up to 2.600 kg.

Applications
Desanding, decoring of iron and surface finishing of aluminium castings
Descaling of forged metal parts, and heat-treated components
Shot peening of batch loads
Features
Simple operating principle
Compact design
Gentle but assured turning and tumbling of the workpieces for all-round shot blasting
Targeted high performance shot blasting for specific applications
Continuous and thorough shot removal
DISA BAT: polyvalent solutions
Barrel-type shot blast machines of the DISA BAT SERIES come in 6 sizes for batch volumes of 60 to 850 l
Pitless design
Fast on-site assembly, thanks to “Plug-and-Play” characteristics
Space-saving design
Electric or pneumatic drives (no hydraulic controls)
Modular design allowing for optional equipment to be retrofitted or exchanged (rubber / steel belts, separator systems, blast wheels etc.) after installation to accommodate production changes
Options
- Steel conveyor belts or rubber apron conveyor belts (depending on the machine size and application)
- Removal of shot, sand, or scale via screw conveyor, screen, or conveyor trough with screen
- Pneumatic or magnetic-pneumatic separation
- Frequency converter for the drive units
- Liners made of high-quality manganese steel or tool steel
- 2 Blast wheel options
Every DISA BAT shot blast machine comprises a distortion-resistant rigid housing and a shot blast chamber of process-compatible configuration. The interior of the shot blast chamber is shielded with large, smooth, and highly wear-resistant liners especially designed to withstand abrasion by shot impact.
