True to form, DISA will be unveiling a selection of new equipment at GIFA 2007 – a new moulding machine, a new core shooter and two new shot blast machines. Furthermore DISA has selected key equipment underlining the wide range of products and services offered by the leading supplier of foundry solutions.
Four years ago at GIFA 2003, DISA focused the spotlight on its New Generation range of moulding machines. Since the introduction, the family has grown and more than 100 machines have been sold worldwide. DISA New Generation moulding technology is now firmly established with its higher speed, higher accuracy, higher reliability and lower costs.
DISA 231 - New moulding machine
“A lot happens over four years however,” says Per Ejdorf, Vice President Sales & Marketing. “The latest addition to the DISA New Generation family is the DISA 231, which raises the bar even further when it comes to performance and quality.”
The new DISA 231, which is to be unveiled on the DISA stand in Hall 15 at 11 a.m. on Tuesday 12 June, promises speeds of up to 510 uncored moulds an hour with a machine-dependent mismatch of no more than 0.10 mm.
Enhanced hydraulics, a redesigned Automatic Mould Conveyor, cutting-edge monitoring and control as well as the new, linear movement core setter with enhanced speed control and less stress on the cores during setting, place the new DISA 231 at the top of the technology ladder even by DISA New Generation standards.
DISA APC – Fast pattern change for higher productivity and flexibility
“Commitment for DISA includes finding ways of helping customers to achieve even higher performance and quality at every point along the moulding line,” Per Ejdorf continues. “This is why our engineers have targeted pattern changing for improvement. Manual pattern changing is a slower process and is prone to human error. The DISA Automatic Pattern Changer (APC) sets new standards for foundries producing short runs with frequent pattern changes by enabling pattern change in as little as 60 seconds.”
DISA SHUTTLE - for flexible foundry lay-out and cooling time
In connection with the DISA moulding line a shuttle solution is presented. The DISA Shuttle enables extended in-mould cooling by doubling or even tripling the length of the Synchronized Belt Conveyor without the need for building extensions.
DISA SAM Mixer - Perfect sand properties
Presented on the DISA stand is the world leading range of DISA sand mixers offering full control over the crucial sand preparation process with effective mixing technology that delivers a homogeneous mix with optimum compactability and green compression every time, day in and day out.
DISA will exhibit the DISA SAM turbine sand mixer equipped with ceramic lining and SMC automatic sand property controller.
DISA CORE EP – New core shooting machine for small and medium cores
During the GIFA exhibition the DISA CORE EP will be shown to the public for the first time. This new development complements the existing range of DISA CORE shooters.
The flexibility of the new DISA CORE EP shooting machine means that it is well suited for all manufacturing purposes. It requires no pit and is adaptable to existing core boxes. The design has been optimized to reduce cleaning requirements and thus downtime to a minimum. The DISA CORE EP also features a safety light curtain for easy and fast operation.
DISA MAC – Heavyweight shot blast machine for light metals
The new DISA MAC shot blast machine is specifically designed to process high-tech light alloy components such as cylinder blocks, cylinder heads and other castings for the automotive and machinery industry. The DISA MAC offers throughputs of up to 200 pieces per hour and is designed to operate together with an industrial robot. Fully controllable manipulator movements (rotation speed, swinging, holding etc.) ensure part specific blast cleaning and continuous removal of the abrasive.
