THE WORLD’S LARGEST VERTICAL FLASKLESS MOULD

On 15th of August at 9.30 hours, the first mould was produced on the world’s largest vertical moulding machine - the DISA 280.

Through an internal and exceptional co-operation at DISA Industries A/S in Herlev this has been realised in only 200 working days, which is the shortest lead-time ever for such a huge project. The facts are the following:

The order was signed on 14 October 2002
Mould size: 850x1200x250/675 mm
The weight of the largest mould is 1 ton
Capacity up to 300 moulds/hour
Weight of the moulding machine is 55 tons
Size in mm 4500H x 10000L x 2000W

The principle is based upon the same platform at the DISA 230/240/250, and 25 designers and production people have been working simultaneously, assisted by the latest 3D CAD technology, and they have produced 1200 mechanical drawings.
